thanks the receipt of Your Excellency's telegram of
the 10th. instant and letter of the 11th instant and
to thank you for the expression therein contained of
appreciation of the work done by Chinese and Europe ans
in Hongkong towards the alleviation of the Femine
in Kwang Si.
I assure Your Excellency of the deep
sympathy of every class in the Colony with the suffer- ing people, and I thank Your Excellency for the orders given by you to facilitate the transport of rice to
the centres of distribution.
